8.8" Apple CarPlay & Android auto Head unit for BMW Series3/5 E60 E61 E63 E64 E90 E91 E92 E93

I have 2 problems. Android auto doesn't have wireless as advertised and rear camera didn't come although I paid 20€ extra for it. Other than that everything seems to be working, installation was kind of difficult but definitely doable considering I have never taken the dash apart even.

A little tricky getting it installed but once it was in, I could not be any happier!

this has been installed on my 2008 e93 m3 and everything works perfectly, including the backup camera. however, the installation was probably the most difficult i have ever done, and just an fyi i have no audio/video experience and my car knowledge is fairly limited. documentation and install guides provided by their team didn't help much at all.

since my car is a convertible, i had to get rca and power extension cables and route them from the backup camera, through the rubber tubing, through the convertible mechanism, then connect the actual rca cable that runs to the dash up front. it was tedious, definitely.

i did try to test the backup camera and for the life of me i could NOT get the backup screen to come up when shifting into reverse. like nothing even happens at all. after hours of searching through forums and youtube videos, i found out that for a MANUAL transmission, i needed to tap into the reverse lights. the little black box (reverse camera filter/relay/rectifier) that came with the kit was definitely mandatory which goes in between the reverse light wiring and the power cable. without it, the camera will cut out when the engine is on since the voltage drops below 12v for the reverse lights when the engine is on. on the headunit, i connected the yellow rca with the red wire to the BROWN wire and set the unit to use 360 CAMERA. i found others to use the PINK wire, but that did not work for me. after all of this, i was able to see the backup camera view when shifting into reverse.

another issue was actually fitting the original radio unit back into its place. there is literally NO room for the included Y cable with the fat connector to fit behind the radio unit. there was a small cavity by the glovebox that i was barely able to fish through, but that took me about 2 hours to do after all of the frustration.

THIS was all done in a span of 6 days. let me tell you, it was a nightmare. i am happy with the product, though. i'm just glad the installation part is over. wireless carplay connects just fine, reverse camera works, steering wheel volume and skip buttons work, idrive controller works, shifting into reverse doesn't cut out the music (i've read otherwise from people). the only annoyance is i have is when i press the M button on the steering wheel, the headunit goes back to the oem CCC screen. not much of a big deal since i don't use it much, but let me justify this small problem with the fact that my 2008 bmw has now been modernized using the power of sweat and tears.

A part in my car is broken and so I'm not able to connect the radio I'd like to send it back in all its original packaging
